Here is my take on twisted sketches sketch #3.

i got the DCWV "The Green Stack" this weekend in JoAnns for $12 - 48 sheets and i love them all!!

This weekend ...

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary with a ...
Road Trip.

We headed down to Waterton Park which is somewhere Bar has always wanted to go, on the way there was a place to see Buffalo ... i didnt quite realise just how close we would see them

Then just as you enter into Waterton there is a wee detour for Red Rock Canyon, the rock is really really red, and such pretty views all around

My boys ...

This is the big lake at Waterton, the mountains in the distance are in Montana, USA.

Barry had this cool idea for a picture, but it was a bit blustery ...

We went with his idea, just down at the pier ... where i also got a splinter, i havent had one in years i was not impressed by that!!

The clouds in the sky were so cool, they make the most amazing patterns!
dont know what this mountain was called sorry!

Then we hit the Road to the Sun Highway, which only Opened on Friday, each year the pass gets 80 - 100 ft of snow and it takes 5 week solid to clear it!!

Yip looking back i probably should have had my legs over the wall like barry since im so clumsy!

But i think the picture was worth it!!

So so very pretty the road isnt open all the time but so worth taking if it is!!

The baby mountain goat at one of the stops, there were a few goats around this area

... and mam no its not a bear!!

some evidence of said snow fall, and Hamish shaking desperate to get to the goat!!

The bridge is built into the side of the rock face, kinda cool ... kinda scary!!the water just falls down, bar decided the car needed a wash and went under the water, he obviously thought i needed a wash too since my window was open!!Pretty waterfallus just past said pretty waterfall!this was a stop on the way, you had to walk out onto the rocks and jump across a little bit but it was worth it, the rocks are so red and the water was just so blue/green!!

Hamish eating the last of Barrys Ice-Cream - actually mine, which went to barry then hamish!We stayed in Kalispell, it was really nice and there are a lot of older buildings, most from the early 1900's :)on the way back across to Canada, there were these rocks at the boarder which were meant to look like buffalo, this was the worst one, but the easiest one to get a photo of! I have had a fantastic weekend and its reminded me of just how lucky i am to have married Barry xxxx

Too Funny

I nipped into my LSS Robin and Margo were working. We were speaking about BG and i mentioned i was in the gallery, they looked it up on the computer and put it on their blog

Love this store they are such great people always fun to go in, Lori wasnt in tonight but they are all great and Barry loves them too so i can go as often as i want!!!

In bad news we got home and ordered a pizza at 8.00 to treat ourselves, we were told 45 minutes, after an hour we called them and were told it will be there within 5 mintues.

15 minutes later it arrived cold and soggy. Didnt pay put it back aggghhhhh we were then hungry so at 9.30 i finally gave in and made dinner!!

Never mind its friday tomorrow so things have to perk up!!

Road Trip

Barry and i LOVE our holidays we love getting out there and adventuring. With everything going on at the moment we cant plan anything, we are hoping the PR guys pull our passports to stamp them so we cant make any plans.

we even have free hotel nights (im thinking a three night stay in SLC, Utah would be cool!!

anyways a LO to record how desperate i am for a road trip ...

Our current dream destinations are

Chicago - want to see the bean, so many people have told me its a great city!!

Salt Lake City - want to see more of the national parks SO amazing!!!

Seattle - just because we LOVE this city LOVE IT

Portland - again cool chilled out vibe to this city and near the goonies beach for days of too much photos and laughter

San Fran - seriously LOVE this city too, love the bridge love the buildings

Montreal - To meet my SS chums

Alaska - looks so pretty

California coast, we want to drive down the coast i cant think of anything more perfect than doing it in a convertible car!!!

Florida - sunshine, rides (for Barry) heat!

Boston - love the history love the accents!!

the sun is shining its a saturday who couldn't be happy :)

just wanted to share a couple of LOs i did last night. Both were super quick and super simple but i still like them ...
i broke out the AC embossing powder this is a greeny/blue metalic one and is sooooo nice in real life!!

and the picnic bar and i had at the beach in Vancouver ... man that was good food!!!!

no good deeds ... etc

today was a typical calgary day, hot and sunny in the morning, thunder showers in the afternoon, so im standing at the bus stop with my brolly and there is an old lady and a young girl dressed for summer with nothing to keep them dry. I go over and offer to share my brolly with them.

the lady is speaking to me and i know she is scottish so i ask her where she is from... Glasgow ... its the only place worth while in scotland.

i was so angry almost pushed her out from under my brolly i mean how rude!!!! Glasgow is a dump!!!

anyways no more good deeds for me if thats how im repaid!!!

Surprised

The last few weeks have been super tough for me, the last few years have been hard.

when things get tough i shut down, i shut people i care about out. I don't respond to e-mails or phone calls and people think im cold and being a b!tch. The truth of the matter is im an only child, this is how i act, i try and build up my strength from within so i can go on, so that i can face the world again and not let anyone or anything knock me down.

sometimes it gets too much

over the last couple of days i have opened up to some people i really trust, i was surprised by the support i got, i was surprised that these people cared i was surprised how much better i felt after speaking with them.

sometimes its easier to shut down, but most of the time its easier to take it to those that you trust to build you up again sometimes you need that support that cheerleader to let you know its going to be ok, that you will get through this and that they will be there for you.

Barry i know a lot of this hasn't been easy for you and some of it has shocked and rocked you, but the second i said i needed you you changed, you became the support i needed you became that influence that i needed.

Barry i love you.

we currently have the mother of all thunder storms here in calgary, ive never heard thunder so loud and i LOVE it, its as though the weather is matching my mood.

Some days you just need potatoes

Here are some LOs that i made this weekend for the SS on line crop, i used the TWISTED SKETCHES sketch for both of the LOs

They are photos from our walk on saturday. The pet shop does all natural sorbets for dogs, so ham normally gets a peanut butter one, they were out so he had to go with mango and peach ... he seemed to like it .... A LOT!!!!

i stamped the tag, clear embossed, sprayed with three glimmer mists, then used distressed stickles for a bit of bling. I also glimmer misted the flower. With the bits on my mat i dipped in a bit of white cs and made the paper for my journaling :)
And Barry and I not quite as cute as spamster :)

I also became an aunty again today, congrats to Barrys brother and his wife and their baby boy Louie.

I am so excited that my cousin became a daddy today. Congratulations Donald and Moraig and your beautiful new baby girl … yet to be named ….

Barry and I are sending lots of love and hugs to our pretend “niece”, I totally think she looks like photos of Donald when he was a baby :)

Been a while ....

Ive been on holiday with my friends Lisa and Alan.

We took a trip to Vancouver via Banff and icefields. I have quite a few photos to share but im too lazy to sort them out yet ;)

I did just want to share my sketch for this week over at Scrapbook Star ...



and my take on it :) And since it is June 1st all the new DT pages and challenges are up made with the SS june kit which is yummy and includes the first exclusive SS stamp which i used on my lo :)

and Lou the kit even includes Magic Buttons :D
